We're so glad you want to learn more about my services and booking process. Take a peek into everything you need to book your shoot with Shelly.
Ready to make your brand sparkle and bring your visions to life?
First, visit the Contact Page and tell us all about what you’re looking for! To officially book with Some Shelly and secure your time slot, you must provide a signed contract and a 50% non-refundable booking deposit.
If you need to cancel, the 50% booking deposit is non-refundable. If you paid the last 50% remaining balance invoice already, you will get this refund. If you'd like to reschedule, you must let Some Shelly know at least 1 week before your scheduled shoot date. If you let Some Shelly late, you will be required to pay an additional $50 rescheduling fee.
We recommend booking a shoot at least 3 weeks out to get your preferred shoot date and timeframe. Some Shelly typically open up books 3 months in advance. It is always better to book sooner than later since our calendar can get full quickly. We do sometimes have last minute availability so always reach out via email.
We typically book shoots Tuesday - Friday between sunrise - sunset. We typically try to avoid midday hours for outdoor session to avoid harsh direct sunlight. We always recommend shooting early mornings or afternoon/evening golden hour time. Shelly typically does not shoot on Saturdays but we're open to it if it is your only availability. No shoots happen on Sundays.
Some Shelly shoots in all types of weather in every season.
Some types of weather that we reschedule outdoor sessions for, that won’t require a rescheduling fee, include:
- thunderstorms/thunder/lightning
- snow storms
- heavy rain or downpours
- winter weather warnings/advisories, including extreme cold
- excessive heat warnings/advisories, including extreme heat/humidity
- any extreme storm watches/warnings
- extreme fog
We typically proceed with outdoor sessions on a “play it by ear” basis for snow flurries, drizzles, and isolated rain showers.
Some Shelly does not distribute unedited images or RAW files. No exceptions. After your photoshoot, Some Shelly will send over a proofing gallery where you will select your favorite photos for Shelly to edit. This proofing gallery is for viewing only.
You will have full digital usage rights for all your final images. If you want to print your images, please discuss with Some Shelly for a custom printing rights rate, unless it is for personal use.
You can typically expect your final images 7 business days from the date you select your favorites unless specifically stated in your contract. Shoots that are 3+ hours long will have a longer turnaround time.
Some Shelly distributes all images through pixieset.com, an online photo gallery site.
Yes, minor retouching like skin smoothing, teeth whitening, and blemish removal can be included in the final edited images. If you’d like any major retouching, there may be an extra cost. Some Shelly does not alter or photoshop bodies to appear larger, smaller, etc.
Yes! If you want any extra images edited when selecting your favorites from the proofs gallery, you will receive a separate invoice for the extras you’d like. Each additional image is $20. If you’d like the entire proofing gallery, a custom rate will be given to you.
Some Shelly is based in NYC/Hoboken but is always open to traveling! If Shelly’s commute to your shooting location is over 1 hour via public transportation or costs more than her typical commute into NYC, there will be a travel fee. There may be a travel fee for some locations in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, or farther. Let us know your location and Some Shelly will send over rates + availability!
Some Shelly has a minimum shooting rate of $800, unless you are in the partnership program. We wish we could work with everyone but our rates are set so we can focus on every client and put our best work and time into every single one.
We will discuss all of this and more when we have our 1:1 video strategy call
before the session. We can even create a custom Pinterest board together!
